Hi Lee,
Thank you for the Christmas letter. That was very nice of you to
do.
I don’t know exactly what you are looking for so I am just going to tell
you the basics.
I was arrested July 14, 1994. My charges are Murder, Conspiracy to
murder, and Solicitation to Murder. My husband was killed because
of drugs. I had to co-defendants, both male, and because I was in
the house this story evolved. Yes I was a battered wife and when I
got arrested, they took full body shots of me. My lawyer said he was
going to use this in my trial but he never did. My co-defendants never
involved me nor did anyone who testified. One person who did involve
me recanted his testimony and said the police threatened him with prison
because they had no evidence against me. There was jury tampering
as my mother-in-law was seen talking to jurors and I think some money changed
hands. The detectives who worked my case told me he knew I was innocent
but I had to go down because it was my husband. My lawyer never called
any witnesses in my defense and would not let me testify either. Between
him and the private investigator I had it cost me one hundred thirty thousand
dollars. I have been in prison for eight years, lost everything I
owned and my children are having problems because I am not with them.
I think I really got railroaded.
Lee let me know what you think okay. I want to thank you for your
time. Please take care of yourself and I hope to hear from you soon.
Sincerely,
Susan Russo

Lee, what I want people to know is that the legal system has some serious
kinks in it. There was a time when you were innocent untill proven
guilty. Now it is the other way around. There was also a time
when lawyers worked hard for their clients. Now it is all about money.
I never had an opportunity to take the stand as my lawyer wouldn't let me.
I never had a chance to tell my side. The media said things that
were never even said. THe whole trial was a jokeand a lot of people
got paid off. This is what the legal system has become.
Sincerely,
Susan Russo
