My case is a petty theft, under the 3 strike law. I was sentenced to eleven years with 80%. My one strike (Armed Robbery) in 1986, doubled my sentence 3 to 6 years and they gave me a year for each prison term. I've done 5 , so  5 years plus 6 years= 11 years with 80%. So I am doing 8 years and 8 months and some change (smile).August 2006 is my release date., but since I saved another prisoner from a hit, I should get up to a year off, because of what they call in California's Prison Rule's Book, a " Heroic Act".  The prison system didn't protect me and I got stabbed.  I sent  an inmate appeals to the Office of the Inspector General, of the state of California, for help, because I have not been getting proper documents and chrono from the prison here. That is all in prayer, would you please pray with me?  ( *Update: Office of Inspector General did nothing and failed to return all the paperwork that Donnie spent hours putting together without copies).

Now, I will write down my vision (Hab.2:2), so that you will know my heart. My vision is called " Tuff Love".  It is a vision of prison reform and inmate rehabilitation.  This is a vision with it's foundation in God's Truth, but this truth is brought to you, by a hurt and angered boy, who never grew up into a "productive citizen", whose emotions stay in this man as he grows up.

This probably will be long, but prison reform will be a long lifetime work.  First, rehab will be to show prisoners their own heart, like looking into an x-ray mirror and seeing your real self.  Exposing anger, jealousy, envy, and lust, to alcohol and drugs.  Exposing hurt in men's lives, which will be tough. But that's where the tough love comes in.  These rehab programs would be mandatory.  One year long and more, if needed, but all this will stear inmates to becoming productive citizens. Jobs, money, counseling, new living location for fresh new starts, etc., etc.,  would be provided.  If people from other countries can come and start a new life, why can't our own people?  That's just the tip of the iceburg. There's a lot more to it, but the main issue is to get inamtes out of denial and into productive citizens.  The government has to open the doors wider and provide more.  In CA, they pay 311 million for one prison to be built Delando II State Prison. It is finished and they are not even using it.

Oh, I myself, don't really need that kind of assistance, but a lot of prisoners do. They really need mandatory programs to direct their life, " Tuff Love", but just like a little child, put a reward of candy in front of them. They will try harder.  Put a productive life in front of  inmates and parolees, and paint a picture for them of success and rewards.  They will try harder.  I've always been good at selling things.  Use this floor mat of reform and rehab to our government and the people. They'll vote it in, but there's much to a program like this, and believe our country has the money for a program like this. For it to happen, the people have to get involved too!!!

Well, I could go on and on, because compassion has replaced anger in my life.  The Bible says (Jude1:22) Compassion makes the difference. Compasssion will listen to inmates dreams, goals and desires. And God's  "Tuff Love" Program will help men and women to fulfill their dreams, goals and desires. I pray that you enjoyed this letter as much as I enjoyed sharing my heart's desires with you!!!

Donnie.
