Prison Rape and Violence
One thing that people do not realize is that most prisoners are not violent people when they enter the system. The problem is that violent prisoners and non-violent prisoners are put together. This means that a heterosexual non violent young man who is handsome can become a violent man’s bitch.
What’s worse is that the guards do not really care. Not only that but they let it happen by turning the other way. They actually put these people in a position where it is bound to happen.
When the inmate complains the guards will make it worse. They will write tickets on phony charges to keep the prisoner from getting parole or going to a lower security level. The prisoner’s life and health are in the guards hands. The guards become power hungry and they abuse their power often. They abuse the prisoners and set them up for abuse by other prisoners.
I was close to going to prison. I was looking at a possibility of two to four years. I do not think that I would have served the minimum. I would be there for the maximum because I do not put up with BS. The guards would be righting me up because I would not be quiet about their actions.
I was in the Navy in the early 60s. The ship is a lot like a prison. Not as bad for most but for some it is just
as bad. I saw guys driven crazy by the
fearless leaders and the bullies. One
guy tried to commit suicide a few times.
He tried to blow up the ship killing himself and a thousand others. Eventually the powers that be decided he was
getting close to success so they sent him to the Psych ward of the
Not all people in prison are bad people. Many are bad people and should be separated from the others. Using the levels of security is supposed to do that but it doesn’t. You can be a super good guy and because you pissed of the guards end up in maximum security.
There was a good guy who was innocent and sent to federal prison. Seven years later he was cleared and let out. Seven years turned him into a drug addict and a violent man. The last I heard his family was talking about having him committed to mental hospital.
