Help our Detroit Youth

I love Detroit and I love the people of Detroit.  I have friends from all walks of life, income levels, races, religions, national
origins, ages. genders, gender orientations.  My best friends are members of the invisable society.  These are the people who people do not see or see through them.  I have an open door policy when it comes to the addicts of Detroit.  I do not have money but I do give them a friend and I listen to their problems.  I let them know that some one cares.

One problem we have is our youth are not getting the education they need.  Many have no heroes except those in the street selling drugs and doing crimes.  Their parents do not support them with money or love.  They go to the gangs for  what they are missing from their families.

Detroit is going through a time now where there has been an increase in murders.  Many victims are young people who were at the wrong place at the wrong time.  Many are drug related.  I lost five friends lasr year to drugs.  Three had heart attacks  (one was a 21 year old mother of a six month old baby)  and two were murdered.

My ex-girlfriend's son was recently shot eight times in a drive by. When he was younger he was involved in selling drugs. We thought he was out of it for a few years. He was on his own (HE is now about 25) and we thought he was doing well. His mother thinks he was out of it but this was because of something that happened in the past.  He survived, yes miracles do happen,  and is doing well

Over the past few years I have seen young men and women ruin their lives for the fast buck of drug dealing. It seems like the young people who do not use and those at the top are the only ones that make the money. He made $1,000 to $3,000 a week. He was also shot in a drive by back then.

What the kids do not see is what happens when you go to prison. They think it is cool. It is cold and hot not cool. One of the purposes of The injustice system is a reality check.

A few years ago a 12 year old boy kicked his parents out of the house and began selling drugs out of the house. He was murdered soon after. All of the money he made did not save his life.

We need help to help our young people.  We need mentors, youth centers and people who can talk to our youth.  People who have been there and made it out need to come back and help.

I will be adding to this page and adding pages envolving or youth.  If you have anything that you would like to have on this site please E-mail me and let me know what you think or can write to help our youth.  We also would like to have links to places that help.

I want to help the youth of Detroit. Will you help me?

Recently I ran across this young lady on the web and saw her organization.
Needless to say she is a wonderful woman with a heart of gold.
